You just got the NEW Nintendo 3DS XL 2015 model and want to get started playing. First you should full charge the battery.
Well take these words of wisdom from the Nintendo web site before you fire up your game system.
“We (Nintendo) recommend charging the battery pack completely before its first use, or after you have not used it for a long time (the battery should be recharged at least once every six months). It takes about four hours–with the unit turned off–to fully charge the battery.”
There you go. If the battery of your NEW Nintendo 3DS XL is new or the battery is very low it can take up to 4 hours to fully charge. In most cases the 3DS XL will take around 3 or less hours, just wait for the light on the front to go out.
After that first charge you can now play while plugged in but the charging time will be much longer because of battery drain.
