Many people have be put off by the way the Sony DSC-RX100 III shuts itself down when you close the pop up viewfinder. Here is a simple way to stop the camera from turning off.
You can not permanently disable the shutdown feature but you can do this. Just tap down the power button a split second after you close the DSC-RX100M3 viewfinder. This will keep your camera on. It’s just that simple. This may take a few practice runs before you get the timing down.
My gripes with the Sony DSC-RX100 III are few and far between but that little issue bothered me quite a bit. And from the looks of it, it was a problem for many others as well.
