Many people are asking about the new back-illuminated sensor (BSI) in the newly released Nikon D850 DSLR Camera. Well it is not Sony. Toshiba, or Samsung like many originally reported.
The electronics and technology company TowerJazz built the image sensors that Nikon partially designed. Basically Nikon told TowerJazz what they wanted the image sensor to be capable of and TowerJazz designed and built it for Nikon.
