If you are looking for a top quality Nikon DX DLSR the D500 and the D7200 are your top choices. If you want to save some cash you may want to take a look at the older, but still great D7100.
If you’re coming from lower level dslr’s, you’re going to notice a big difference in size, especially with the d500. Its really quite a larger dslr but does feel really good in your hand.
If you are looking to travel a bit more though, the d7200 is going to be a slightly lighter choice and might be something to look into.
Both cameras feel fantastic, and to me are in the sweet spot size for dslrs. If you really need that pro build, the d500 will be for you, but for most people the d7200 is going to be more than capable.
